Abstract

This thesis deals with the adsorption studies removing hexavalent chromium VI of the aqueous medium in packed columns using activated peach pits (Prunnus persica). The theoretical part includes a description of the process of biosorption, factors affecting it, the characteristics of the selected biosorbents, describe in detail the distribution of isotherms and last but not least the issue of hexavalent chromium VI in the environment. The experimental part describes the preparation process and its detailed description, determining appropriate column height. The samples were chemically activated with hydrochloric acid (HCl) for 30 min. 1 mol l-1.
