Abstract

This thesis focuses on evaluating the competitiveness of the freight forwarding company Geis CZ s.r.o. Its aim is to determine the company’s level of competitiveness and to propose solutions for achieving a better competitive position. The selected methods include the PEST analysis and Porter’s Five Forces model. Another method focusing on the internal environment of the company is financial analysis, specifically indicators of profitability, liquidity, indebtedness, and activity. Based on the result of the financial analysis, the company was compared with its competitors and the industry using a Spider analysis. This analysis revealed that the company is performing efficiently based on the indicator results. The viability of the company was assessed using the Pollak model, which indicated that the vitality of the company is ensured. The VRIO analysis identified competitive advantages based on previously gathered information. The final SWOT analysis focuses on identifying strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats. Based on the gathered information, Geis CZ s.r.o. is a healthy company with a good competitive position. However, it has been recommended to improve its marketing activities and maintain continuous care for existing customers.
