Využití platformy Big Data v business procesech

Abstract

The topic of the thesis is ‘The usage of the Big Data platform in business processes’. The aim of this thesis is the systematization of the Big Data knowledge, i.e. the Big Data concept and the Big Data technologies, the Big Data application of variety data analysis (especially unstructured data) in selected businesses processes in a particular company, to create a general framework of the Big Data application in business processes. This thesis is divided into six chapters to achieve the aim. The Big Data concept is introduced in first chapter. The terms data, information, knowledge and their mutual relationships, Business Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence and Big Data are defined. The Big Data concept is defined by Volume, Velocity a Variety in this thesis. Then the Big Data technologies are introduced in the second chapter. The main attention is paid to Hadoop, Key-value, Document, Graph, High-Performance Analytics. The third chapter is dedicated to mapping the current situation of the Big Data platform knowledge and usage based on the questionnaires of companies: Gartner, Business Application Research Center - BARC GmbH. AIIM, NewVantage Partners LLC and EMC. The fourth chapter is dedicated to mapping the current situation of the Big Data platform in selected companies in the Czech or the Slovak Republic based on the questionnaire. The Big Data application in a particular company in the Czech Republic is the topic in the fifth chapter. We focus on new data sources and the analysis of the unstructured data. The company uses the Oracle and SAS products, therefore these platforms are used in the proposed solution. We focus on tools: Oracle Endeca Information Discovery, SAS® Enterprise Miner™ with Text Mining, SAS® Sentiment Analysis, SAS® Visual Analytics and Base SAS®. We create a general framework of the Big Data application in business processes in the sixth chapter. This framework is based on the analysis and the synthesis of the Big Data application in the particular company, the Big Data knowledge and our work experience.
