Abstract
Video Head Impulse Test is a new method of testing the balance system, which according to the interdependence of peripheral vestibular system and oculomotor nerve allows to detect deficits of all six semicircular canals, that are oriented in three planes. The aim of this thesis is to describe and implement measurement of using the device ICS Impulse®, analyze data and suggest a solution of output assessment to optimize the requirements of clinical practice. For this purpose rules specifying in detail the classification of the functional state of individual semicircular canals were created. Algorithm of designed assessment is implemented into application GainID, developed in C# programme. The data of all measurements were subjected to analysis according to the new set of rules for semicircular canals classification. The main benefit of the new concept of analysis are accurate and detailed resources for the diagnosis and the follow-up adjustment of the subsequent rehabilitation process.
