Abstract
The topic of this thesis is the investigation of the corrosion properties of austenitic stainless steels AISI 304, AISI 310, and AISI 316, which are used for air distribution in pool systems.. The theoretical part focuses on the description of degradation processes, with an emphasis on types of metal corrosion and types of stainless steel. It also describes methods of manufacturing pipes for air conditioning and their joining methods. The last part of the theoretical section is devoted to a description of the selected materials for use in air conditioning systems. In the practical part, the corrosion properties of these materials were investigated using a potentiodynamic polarization test. This test is supplied by metallographic evaluation of the microstructure, surface roughness test, microhardness test, and wettability. The combination of theoretical and practical parts enables the acquisition of a comprehensive view of the issues concerning the corrosion properties of the selected materials.
