Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a mobile application that serves
as a zoo guide. The application is developed using React Native and enables users to view an area
map, browse exhibitions, access detailed information about animals, read current news, and check
the daily programme. The application also uses geolocation to notify users about nearby points
of interest. Data are retrieved from Firebase Firestore and stored locally to ensure usability even
with limited connectivity. The map functionality is based on local data and a navigation graph,
which is used to calculate routes to selected locations. The thesis further includes requirements
analysis, a comparison of selected cross-platform frameworks, and the design of the application
architecture. The result is an application built on a cross-platform Expo/React Native stack with
shared TypeScript code, integrating map data, dynamic content, and mobile device features into a
single system.
