Abstract

This master thesis deals with the method of acoustic emission and its application in the diagnosis of pressure vessels. Diagnostics of pressure vessels in this case means the application of acoustic emission method for standard test of pressure vessels and subsequent evaluation of the integrity, usability, and material properties for further use. They used two types of test and two types of cylinders. The first experimental test includes a pressure test composite cylinder with an evaluation of material characteristics for further operational use. In the second test will be verified fatigue life of steel cylinder, respectively the creation of microcracks in the wall of a pressure vessel, depending on number of cycles.
