Abstract

The thesis deals with numeric nonlinear modeling of steel arc rebar employed in mining and underground engineering. The rebar has to resist high pressure of a rock mass which invokes great internal forces and deformation in the rebar. Often it is deformed in a way matching a construction size and there also appear plastic deformations. The thesis describes and analyzes essential influences of physical, structural and geometric nonlinearities affecting the calculation of the arc rebar used in mining and underground engineering. Nonlinear calculations are done by finite element methods using programmed applications in Matlab program.
