Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the differentiation of wages in the Czech Republic according to chosen characteristics, through descriptive and comparative analysis along with the suggestion of solution for the given situation. The theoretical part clarifies the functioning of job offer and job demand. This part also includes a description of a perfect and imperfect competitive market. Further attention is paid to selected theoretical aspects concerning on wage differences. The results is summarized in the empirical part for both Czech and foreign authors. This section focuses on selected aspects of wage differences. The practical part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the wage differentiation according to selected characteristics. The pay gap is monitored within education and occupations, while the regional aspect is also being monitored. The last chapter focuses on suggestions and recommendations for challenging questions about individual issues. The data are drawn on the basis of the Average Earnings Information System.
