Abstract
This thesis examines the temperature dependance of formation of ettringite sludge, which is created by desulphation of real sample of mine water from mine Jiří in Sokolov. The theoretical part focuses on the incidence, composition and types of mine water, legislation for dealing with mine water in Czech Republic. Methods of sulphates removal from mine water and the temperature dependence in the process of desulphation. The experimental section is devoted to determine the composition of mine water sample. Proposition of optimal doses of 20% lime milk and sodium aluminate needed for desulphation at room temperature. Applications of suggested doses for lab temperature for identical samples of mine water with change input temperatures of 5, 10, 15, 20 °C. Tracking changes in sulphate concentrations for individual samples and evaluating the effect of temperature on the composition and representation of individual components in the resulting ettringite sludges with X-ray diffraction analysis.
