Abstract

This thesis deals with the issues of stabilization in the products of thermal disposal of hazardous waste from health care facilities - ash with slag and activated carbon from flue-gas cleaning. These products fall by the waste disposal legislation into the category of hazardous waste, which was confirmed by the analysis. For the immobilization of pollutants was chosen cementation process. Both samples were stabilized by the addition of 10%, 20% and 30% Portland cement. Efficacy was monitored by cementing after 1, 4, 7 and 28 days of hydration analysis of an aqueous extract prepared from the products of hydration. The results show that the method chosen was to hydration products bound with a number of metals. The final products, however, exceeded in aqueous leachate concentration limit for dissolved solids and chlorides and therefore they are classified as a hazardous waste again. For that reason, has failed to meet the requirement for ecotoxicity test.
