Abstract
The focus of my work lies on development of human resources potential in the machinery enterprise – Podhoran Lukov, Ltd. The development of human resources potential in a context of human resources management is being described on a theoretical level based on academic readings. The central point of my thesis lies on an analysis of the enterprise´s approach to human resources potential development. Outputs of company´s documents research, semi-structured personnel officer interview, survey carried out among employees and management workers, as well as SWOT analysis served as a base to my examinations. With regards to my analysis I concluded that there is no systematic approach to employees´ education or development in general. Human resource development in the company can be characterized as slightly below average. There is neither clear strategy nor vision nor objectives of human resources development in the company. Hence, as one of main suggestions for the top management I advise to set up a human resources strategy and key tasks for future. In order to do so, HR manager position should be created and staffed. Responsibility for human resources strategy and management should be delegated on a single HR manager or personnel officer. Moreover, a unified education and HR development system should be created within competencies of HR manager. On top of that I recommend providing employees with the possibility of personal development and carrier growth opportunities consultations with the HR manager. The company should also consider introducing various benefits in order to motivate employees in other than financial ways, etc.
The objective of my thesis was to analyze education and human resources development system in the machinery company Podhoran Lukov, Ltd. My intention was to eventually provide suggestions and recommendations to the top management of the company based on my findings. The aim of these recommendations´ is to enhance the company´s performance in the area of human resources.
