Abstract
The main goal of the bachelor thesis is automating of measuring system which is used to simulate ageing of optical fibers. Automation is especially important for this kind of measurement since the process of fibers ageing is very long lasting. Besides other advantages, the main benefit of automation is no additional necessity for operation. There is designed an eligible measuring system in the thesis following with its automation. The most important part of the system is the control software for acquisition of measured data. The software was realized by integrating of interactive environment MATLAB and communication with measurement system is done through the RS-232 standard. The utility of the software was subsequently tested by experimental measurement.
