Abstract
The dissertation details a comprehensive practical firefighter training program focused on interior operations, specifically Compartment Fire Behavior Training (CFBT). It combines the understanding of fire dynamics within enclosed spaces, operational tactics like gas-layer cooling, ventilation management, and verifiable performance evaluation methods. The theoretical section synthesizes principles from fluid dynamics, fire behavior, and training design. The methodology introduces a measurement and evaluation system using thermometry and radiometry, supported by hydraulic loss calculations and nozzle parameter modeling. The experimental phase employs standardized scenarios to compare measurements during Team A and B training, versus a baseline without firefighters, evaluating pulsed extinguishment’s impact on temperature, radiation, environmental stability, and water use. This structured approach offers specific metrics, instrumentation procedures, tactical advice for stream and dosing choices, and an implementation plan for validated firefighter training.
