Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with steel components‘ fractures, particularly fractographic analysis of fracture surfaces. The special emphasis is focused on scanning electron microscophy, which represents the most important tool of fractographic analysis nowadays. The thesis briefly outlines the historical development of fracture research, it is also concerned with tools applied in fractographic analysis, and finally, it classifies fractures by virtue of their parameters. Taking into consideration the fracture characteristics investigated in the practical part of this thesis, it comprises a chapter dealing with hydrogen embrittlement.
The practical part of this bachelor thesis presents the investigation of gear’s fracture causes by methods of fractographic analysis.
