Brexit jako zlomový okamžik v moderních dějinách Velké Británie: analýza důsledků a perspektiv

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis examines the evolution of relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union and analyzes Brexit as a significant economic and political turning point in the modern history of the United Kingdom. The aim of this thesis is to assess, based on an analysis of the historical development of relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union, the main consequences and future prospects for the United Kingdom following its withdrawal from the European Union. The first part of the thesis outlines the development of British foreign policy and its relationship to European integration up to 1973. The second part focuses on the process leading to Brexit, the emergence of British Euroscepticism, and the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union. The third part analyzes the main consequences of Brexit in terms of foreign trade, economic growth, migration, and security cooperation for the period 2014–2025.
