Abstract
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to create five rings from the Dark Souls III video game out of silver, brass and pewter bronze using a precision casting method and a wax model, and an experimental method of casting metal into cuttlefish bone and soldering.
The theoretical section contains a brief introduction to the world and story of Dark Souls III and a porion of story of the entire series of games and artifacts that accompany it. It also covers the history of rings, their meaning and symbolism. It also talks about what areas and periods these five rings may have been inspired by.
The practical section is structured into five parts, one for each ring. It deals with the manufacturing process of each ring from wax model to the final surface touches. It also describes all the difficulties that occurred during the production process and is supplemented with visual documentation.
