Abstract
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide well-arranged information about trade and investment relations between South Korea, the European Union and the Czech Republic and focus on the impact of Hyundai Motor Company's investment on the GDP of the Moravian Silesian region, employment rate of the Czech Republic and the Moravian Silesian region and the structure of Czech economy. The first chapter deals with the economic relations between the European Union and the Republic of Korea and describes the history and current contractual relations that the mutual co-operation follows. In the second chapter there are specified trade and investment relations between the Czech Republic and South Korea. All bilateral and multilateral agreements which both countries have concluded are presented. This chapter contains descriptions of mutual trade in goods and services and mutual foreign direct investment. Texts are accompanied by tables that summarize the value of products, services and investments that flow between these two countries. The last analysing chapter includes a description of activities of Hyundai Motor Comapny in the Czech Republic and its impact on employment rate, GDP and the structure of Czech economy. There are closey described the conditions of entering the Czech market, the annually volume of production and sales of cars that are manufactured in the Czech factory. A special part of the chapter is also devoted to employment in the Hyundai Motor Company. A final chapter is an analysis of the impact of Hyundai Motor Company's investment on he GDP of the Moravian Silesian region, employment rate in the Moravian Silesian region and in the Czech Republicand and the structure of the Czech economy. Finally, there are defined benefits and the negative effects that the investment could bring.
