Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the preparation and characterization of antibacterial organoclays nanoparticles in the biopolymer matrix of nanocomposite. An effective antibacterial agent is cyclopiroxolamine and trolamine salicylate. The clay mineral vermiculite and montmorillonite were used as the carrier. Polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol and polyethylene oxide were used to make the nanopomposite biopolymer matrix. The structure of the prepared films was characterized using X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and light microscope. Antimicrobial activity of nanocomposites was tested against bacterial strains of Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium difficilae, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
