Abstract

This thesis presents information systems as a solution for the raw material industry, leading to high safety, availability and robustness. These requirements are ensured by High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies also known as HADR. This document analyzes the security requirements of information systems in the Raw Material Industry and compares the different HADR technologies and selected database systems in terms of price, features, performance and administration complexity. The outcome of this work is the recommendation of appropriate technology with an acceptable price and performance ratio for the production of information systems used in the company OKD.
