Abstract
Dissertation thesis deals with the technological possibilities of utilization of old ecological loads from mining activities in Karlovy Vary region and with the verification of technology for reduce AMD potentional production and waste dump ecotoxicity using bacterial leaching.
The work includes a research section which describes problem of old ecological loads, biological and chemical leaching and issue of AMD formation. Then further research, which was conducted at two sites of old dumps (Kraslice and Přebuz), which exhibit characteristics of old ecological loads, using Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria bio-leaching, through which removes material from heavy metals, primarily focuses on arsenic mineralization and watching them in terms of their influence on the kinetics bio-leaching sulfide minerals.
In this thesis the results of analyzes from the two sites, as well as from the analysis of mixtures that were created from pure minerals pyrite, arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite were used. Due to the lengthy leaching process and the need to maintain certain parameters pilot plant reactor BioFlo & CelliGen 310 was used. Leaching of copper from waste dump material from Helena mine using A. ferrooxidans is based on polynomial-time character. For the observed arsenic mineralization 92% of the arsenic content from solution was removed using bacterial leaching. In Přebuz locality the yield of copper using biological leaching was about 10%. Relation between rate of leaching and mortality of bacteria was found in realation to arsenic content in solution.
