Abstract

The security risks associated with high gas production in deep coal mines is very high. This is evidenced by the number of accidents caused by explosion of the explosive gas, especially methane. Historically dealt with and dealt with in basically two ways ventilation and drainage. In the processing of the topic of the dissertation work I took into account the current situation when, due to a number of circumstances occur in the Czech Republic, but also elsewhere in the world, to the sharp downturn of mining of coal in underground mines. The security risks associated with high gas production in these new circumstances are moving into the area of the defunct mines and their solution is needed to find a new approach. This is one of the essential intentions of my dissertation. With the decline of mining arise from the social problems associated with unemployment. In the dissertation, I come with the theme, as the negative impact of relieve and it is precisely the method drainage, which plays such an important role in the working of the mines.
