Analýza regionálních disparit v Itálii

Abstract

Cohesion policy is existing by occurrence of regional disparities among countries and regions and its main goal is reduce disparities. Due to occurrence of regional disparities in the EU, the issue is receiving increasing attention. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with regional disparities, regional policy of the EU and indicators of regional disparities. The practical part includes the goal of the thesis – analysis and evaluation of regional disparities in Italy. In the practical part is described socio-economic characteristics of Italy and that is followed by analysis and evaluation of regional disparities in Italian regions by three selected methods. Although Italy is industrialized country, there exist large differences especially among the northern and southern regions. The northern regions are developed while southern regions are not as advanced. Even though there are disparities among the Italian regions NUTS II considerable, it have led to their elimination through the years.
