Abstract

My dissertation essay concerns options for high performance (HP) concrete internal treatment by application of recycled materials. The dissertation consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, varieties of HP concrete and its composition are described and account of HP concrete’s contraction amount and durability is given. The theoretical part’s conclusion refers to methods for treatment of concrete. The practical part gives account of experiments with concrete mixtures of varying content of recycled material and water. All samples were subject of contraction measurements and after the lapse of 28 days, the samples were put to tests as regarded flexure tensile and compression resistance. The experiments evidenced that recycled material admixtures hardly affect relative deformation and strength characteristics of concrete. Admixtures of waterlogged recycled material cause a slight decrease of contraction amount and some increase in overall strength. Nonetheless, the differences are insubstantial.
