Abstract
Gender wage gaps between men and women are often discussed topic. Though the most developed economics put emphasis on equal treatment on the labour market, many economic subjects don´t act this way very often. The object of this bachelor thesis is monitoring of gender wage gap in Czech Republic using discriminatory and non-discriminatory factors and comparing with selected EU countries. The thesis is processed using descriptive and comparative method. The bachelor thesis is divided into three parts. First part deals with economic theories of discriminatory and non-discriminatory factors which influence on wage caps between men and women. Second part gives overview of empiric literature dealing with wage gaps between men and women in the world. The third part is devoted to wage gaps analysis between men and women in Czech Republic and comparing with selected EU countries. The situation of equal paying to men and women at the Czech labour market is evaluated as the second worst of the EU countries using data analysis. The low women representation in the government positions is the big problem in Czech Republic as well.
