Abstract

The bachelor's thesis focuses on evaluating the benefits and effectiveness of portable smoke curtains during fire interventions. The thesis describes the types of smoke curtains, their construction, advantages, and limitations when used in various tactical situations. As part of the practical section, experimental testing was carried out using smoke curtains in three scenarios – without a curtain, with a curtain, and with a curtain in combination with positive pressure ventilation. The results of the experiment confirm that proper use of a smoke curtain significantly limits the spread of smoke into escape routes and improves conditions for both the evacuation of people and firefighter operations. The thesis also provides recommendations for incorporating portable smoke curtains into the tactical procedures of fire and rescue units.
