Abstract
The topic of this bachelor thesis is to make a study of and then simulate the using of different types of modulation formats for WDM-PON networks. Then subsequently to point to the advantages and disadvatages of each individual form. The theses is devided into three principal parts which are outlined below.
In the first part deals with and sums up the theory. It decribes the components used during the realisation of optical lines, followed by a description of WDM technology and its modifications. This section also gives a teoretical analysis the use of modulation formats for WDM-PON networks. The final sheds light on the effect which influence the quality of optical signals. Section one is covered in chapters one through six.
The second part focuses on a practical simulation of the Optiwave Optisystem 10 programme. It describes the usage and settings of the individual elements of the WDM-PON design network which is explained in detail. Then the settings for elements of individual modulation are outlined. Also mentioned are the results of the simulation of individual modulation. The parameters which determine the quality of signal transmission are also stated. Section two is covered in chapters seven and eight.
In third part there is a description of grafical interface of Adobe Flash. This part also shows prewiews of individual animations, which describe principles of the WDM-PON network.Section three is covered in chapter number nine.
