Abstract

This thesis deals with the waste management system in the town of Duchcov. The first part contains a brief characterization of solid municipal wastes. Then the present waste management system in the town of Duchcov is elaborated. The problems of dealing with wastes concern every citizen. Municipalities become more aware of their important role in providing a functional municipal waste management system. They are producers and consequently also owners of municipal wastes and are the nearest to citizens. Waste management systems are established by a by-law in municipalities. The conclusion of the thesis is designing a by-law – dealing with wastes in the town of Duchcov.
