Abstract

Amphibians are poikilothermic animals. In the Czech Republic they are represented by a fairly limited variety of species of small-size vertebrates. They can act as excellent bioindicators due to their physiology and ecology. In general, bioindicators allow early warning of any changes that couldlead to significant threats to individual species, population, comminities and ecosystems. The aim of this work was to introduce amphibians as important bio-indicators of environmental and become familiar with the study of amphibians in practice. For this purpose, three models were selected locations with differ in the nature of the environmentand the intensity of anthropogenic activities.
