Abstract

The thesis deals with assessing the suitability of using reflectorless rangefinders in geodesy. For selected types of total stations factors that affect the precision of length measurements are evaluated. The fact whether the experimentally detected standard deviations are in accordance with the measurement accuracy values stated by the producers of the equipment tested is assessed. The influence on the aim accuracy at different colours and types of surfaces and the effect on the aim accuracy at targets with a non-perpendicular angle of impact of the measurement beam is being examined here. The research has been carried out through experimental measurements at the distance calibration base of VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava. For „total station – target“ systems additive constants and standard deviation measurements have been intended. The gained characteristics of accuracy in most cases corresponded to the length measurement accuracy stated by the test equipment producers. The results indicate that the greater the rotation angle of the test sample, the lower the measurement accuracy. For non-perpendicular aims at a target measurement critical angles have been set. In the thesis I have stated the acquired knowledge from my own research together with the available works on related topics.
