Abstract

This bachelor thesis is aimed on the seed bank in the area disturbed by human activities. Dump Odra was chosen as an examined area. First, Ostrava-Karvina district is described – its history, impact of mining on landscape and theoretical possibility of remedation of this area. Natural characteristic of the area is following. Furthermore, soil seed bank, dormancy and seed dispersal is processed. In the practical part, sampling and processing of soil seed bank was made. Then the fytocenology of chosen area was processed. Results of soil seed bank sampling were compared with vegetation occurring at the dump and theoretical assumptions derived from research were applied on them.
