Abstract
The main purpose of this diploma thesis is to design an antenna of meander-type for use in RFID. The initial theoretical part of the thesis includes general description of this technology, its history, advantages and disadvantages compared to other technologies which are focused on identification. Simulations and optimizations of the antenna are performed through the CST MICROWAVE STUDIO. Very important part of this thesis is software optimization and impedance matching of the meander antenna. Substrate influence was clarified by testing. The theory of microstrip antennas also describes how to connect antenna power supply. Theoretical knowledge and simulation results are applied in the practical part which follows up the producing of a real model of the meander antenna. Antenna is realized for ultra-high frequency band, specifically at the 2,45 GHz frequency.
