Abstract

HALLA, Jiří. Apartment Building Design in Ostrava. Bachelor’s Thesis. VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, 2026. Supervisor: Ing. Filip Čmiel, Ph.D. This bachelor’s thesis deals with the preparation of the architectural and building design part of the construction execution documentation for an apartment building in Ostrava. The documentation has been prepared in accordance with the applicable legislation, in particular Act No. 283/2021 Coll., the Building Act, Decree No. 131/2024 Coll., on construction documentation, and Decree No. 146/2024 Coll., on requirements for construction. The proposed building is a four-storey apartment building with a combined load-bearing system and a flat roof. The structural design of the building is conceived as a combination of monolithic, masonry, and prefabricated systems. The first underground storey is designed as a monolithic reinforced concrete structure with a white tank waterproofing system, while the above-ground storeys are formed predominantly by a masonry system made of ceramic blocks, complemented by monolithic reinforced concrete elements. The circulation part of the building consists of a prefabricated reinforced concrete staircase and a monolithic reinforced concrete elevator shaft. The building is founded on shallow reinforced concrete foundations. The external envelope is insulated with mineral wool, and the openings are fitted with electrically operated external roller shutters. The documentation, prepared within the scope of the attached assignment, includes an architectural study, a technical report, the architectural and building design, a thermal performance assessment of the roof envelope in accordance with ČSN 73 0540-2, and a structural assessment of a monolithic reinforced concrete beam according to the principles of the applicable standards for the design of concrete structures, in particular ČSN EN 1992-1-1 ed. 3.
