Přírodní zajímavosti Lokte a okolí

Abstract

This thesis is focused on geology, geomorphology, natural attractions and anthropogenic influences in the village of Loket and its surroundings. I provide an outline of the geologic history and geomorphologic division; I also describe hydrological conditions in rivers, artificial canals as well as in waterworks. I describe mineral springs, which are closely associated with West Bohemian spas. In the last part of my thesis I discuss the anthropogenic effect on the landscape; this section also includes technical monuments of Karlovy Vary, Cheb and Sokolov. I also mention porcelain production adherent to the region. I marginally provide information about mining in the Ore Mountains and forests in Austerlitz.
