Abstract

The objective of my degree thesis „New Approaches to Supply Chain Management” is to characterise the basic principles and systems in supply chain management, analyse the current approaches to supply chains and undertake a comparative analysis of the individual approaches. I have divided this work into five sections. In the first part I focus on the differing definitions of supply chains and basic concepts. In the second part I cover management, and the third part is devoted to an analysis of supply chains. The forth part focusses on the four basic types of supply chain structure and their detailed description. The last part provides a comparative analysis of the individual types of supply chain structure along with their advantages and disadvantages.
