Abstract

This thesis investigates the potential of electricity production from photovoltaic panels located on suitable land and buildings in the Moravian-Silesian region. The first part of the thesis deals with the basic parameters of electricity production in the Czech Republic with regard to reducing the carbon footprint. It also focuses on the characteristics of photovoltaic power plants and the current legislative framework and subsidy policy in the Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis focuses on the collection and analysis of data that form the basis for the calculations. It includes a detailed description of the data processing methodology and criteria for selecting suitable land and buildings for the installation of PV plants. A statistical method was used to determine the overall power generation potential, which involved modelling PV plants on sample plots and buildings.
