Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of controlled cooling of die forging of steel C45 designated for the automotive industry. This way of thermomechanical processing enables to replace the conventional hardening and tempering technology. The aim of the thesis is to determine the conditions to achieve the mechanical properties required by customers in dependence on structural changes of the controlled cooling of die forging. It focuses in particular on reaching a high yield strength required for the value Re min = 450 MPa. The testing procedure of controlled cooling has been done in two versions which differ in the speed of cooling. The analyses of microstructure and mechanical testing have been accomplished for a mutual comparison and evaluation of the whole experiment.
