Abstract

The aim of this thesis is a theoretical and experimental elaboration of characterization of defined particle sizes and shapes. The theoretical part is in the form of literary research of two main particle size characterization methods (laser diffraction and dynamic light scattering) and statistical evaluation of measured data. During the practical part the defined particles were prepared by mechanochemical synthesis. They were characterized by the picture analysis and by the particle size analyzer HORIBA. The data gained by both methods were compared and differences in measuring particle sizes by means of both methods were discussed. A particle shape analysis was performed on a selected SEM image.
