Dopady útlumů těžby hnědého uhlí na Ústecký kraj

Abstract

The bachelor thesis is focused on the issues of the impacts of the brown coal mining downturn in the Usti Region and their possible solutions. The theoretical part describes the causes of the downturn including its history, legislative background and comparison of similar situation in Germany and Great Britain. The outline of a possible solution to the brown coal mining downturn is the implementation of the so-called Economic Restructuring Strategy of the Ústí, Moravian-Silesian and Karlovy Vary Regions. However, this strategy is very extensive, so two measures in the field of environment and science and research helping to address the current downturn are selected to illustrate the restructuring process. In the practical part there is the evaluation of the questionnaire survey among the general public and the formulation of proposals for recommendations and their implementation.
