Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the occupational health and safety of loggers. The aim of the thesis is to create a methodological tool for improving the occupational health and safety of the profession. The thesis presents an overview of legislative requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE) that are necessary for safe work in forestry. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the description of legal and other regulations concerning occupational safety, with emphasis on the specifics of the work of loggers. The specific risks of this profession are then described, divided into several categories. Each risk is described with examples of specific hazards and recommendations for their prevention. The second part of the thesis presents a proposal for a professional OSH card, which is designed as a methodological tool for ensuring the safety of timber harvesters. The card contains a list of necessary PPE, procedures for safe work and obligations of self-employed persons.
