Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with contemporary mineral mining, its processing and historical development in our country. It also describes ores, industrial minerals, energy minerals and other geological materials in detail. There is a description of mineral mining as well as the technical development and its impact on the state economy and development. The first part of the bachelor thesis includes historically significant ores such as iron, gold, silver and tin, which definitely influenced the economical development of our country. Secondly, we focused on industrial minerals, especially on limestone used in construction industry. Another significant industrial mineral closely connected with porcelain production is kaolin, which is very popular abroad as well as our glass products made of silica sand and feldspars. The thesis continues with energy minerals and historical description and importance of our coal and uranium mining. Last but not least part, presents gemstones such as pyrope and moldavites extracted in our country, which are significant in our jewellery industry.
