Naleziště achátů v České republice

Abstract

This bachelor thesis is talking about deposits of agates in the Czech Republic located in Krusne Hory, Berounsko, Podkrkonosi and other not as known areas. It deals with issues such as formation of agates, their similarities and differences. It also informs readers about deposits of rare and atypical agates, from which some locations are world-wide known. The purpose of the thesis is to recognize the occurences of the agates in the Czech Republic and to define the main characteristics of the agates from various locations. For better understanding of czech agates it is necessary to observe their deposits. The practical part of the thesis is focused on agates from the one of the best known areas in the Czech Republic – Podkrkonosi. Except from observation of deposits, some found agates were sharpened.
