Abstract
For more than 30 years cohesion policy has helped reduce disparity among individual EU regions and supports their competitiveness, thus increasing the competitiveness of the whole EU. The cohesion policy of the EU is a unique concept in the world and it is the main investment policy of the EU. The cohesion policy ought to respond flexibly to the changes in progress and trends in its regions, which is achieved by working in seven-year cycles, in which it establishes goals, priorities and visions for the current seven-year period. The diploma thesis is concerned with the architecture of the EU cohesion policy after the year 2020. Its target is the introduction of a perspective of the EU cohesion policy in the 2021-2027 programme period and a subsequent analysis and evaluation of the concept of national architecture Czech Republic cohesion policy after the year 2020. A constituent part is the mapping of the current development of the EU cohesion policy focused on the changes realized in the programme periods. The analysis and assessment of these periods confirms that the proposal of the cohesion policy architecture for the programme period 2021-2027 brings simplification for the implementation of this policy within the EU. Future EU cohesion policy architecture is simpler, more effective, more flexible, more modern, and focused on specific targets, which support the coherency and competitiveness of the EU regions.
