Abstract

The thesis examines the role of Local Action Groups in rural development and the progress of its policy in Czech Republic. The main objective of the thesis is to evaluate the work of Local Action Groups on a practical example of Local Action Group Pobeskydi which is one of the longest operating Local Action Group in Czech Republic. Another objective of the thesis is to specify the foundation of the rural development policy and to describe its progress in Czech Republic. The second chapter of the thesis focuses on the theoretical definition of cooperation as a factor of development and specifies the form of cooperation called Local Action Groups which is based on multi sector partnership. The third chapter focuses on the progress of rural development policy within the context of Czech Republic with the prospect of the forthcoming programming period 2014-2020 and characterizes the profile of Local Action Group Pobeskydi. The last chapter examines the chosen aspects of formal notices of Local Action Group Pobeskydi in the years 2007-2013.
