Abstract
This thesis deals with the design and experimental verification of die forging technology for sabot production. The geometry of tools for wedge rolling, die forging and shearing technologies was designed and individual numerical simulations were compiled. The greatest attention was focused on the description of the deformation behavior of the aluminum alloy AlZn5.6Mg2.5Cu1.6 during the numerical simulation of the die forging. Based on the findings from the simulation, experimental forging of the sabot was performed. The forged sabot was then subjected to a metallographic analysis, the result of which has been knowledge of the resulting structure and the achieved mechanical properties. Thanks to the use of die forging technology, the existing technology for the production of sabots has been optimized, which has led to the finding that there is space for significant economic savings.
