Abstract

This thesis is engaged in the theme reducing greenhouse gas emissions in relation to nuclear power plants. The second chapter describes the problem of global warning and the associated greenhouse effect, which is produced by emissions of greenhouse gases. Another section is devoted to systems of emissions trading in different countries. The issue of nuclear power plants is analyzed in the last chapter. There are described basic issues with this type of plants. The following is an assessment of nuclear power in economic terms and compared to emissions of greenhouse gases emitted from various type of power plants within the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
