Abstract

This thesis deals with the determination of the lethal concentration of titanium dioxide nanoparticles using threadworm (Tubifex tubifex) as the model organism. The theoretical part describes the nanoparticles and their effects on humans and surrounding organisms, as well as the model organisms and their applications. In the practical part, the applicability of the ASTM E1706-05 standard for titanium dioxide nanoparticles is verified. The results of my work show that the conditions for the use of toxicological tests to detect toxicity for nanomaterials still need to be precisely defined.
