Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with investing money in cryptocurrencies for managers of small and medium enterprises. The aim of the thesis is to assess whether and in what situation cryptocurrencies can be a suitable investment tool with regard to the needs of the company. The first part of the thesis clarifies the theory of financial management and decision-making in connection with investment decision-making and financial investments. Furthermore, the first part is also devoted to the theory of cryptocurrencies themselves, focusing primarily on the structure of their system. In the practical part of the thesis, selected cryptocurrencies are first characterized by describing their market development and economic characteristics. Subsequently, cryptocurrencies are assessed mainly on the basis of three criteria, namely return, risk and liquidity, taking into account the market position and characteristics of the projects.
