Abstract

ABSTRACT Kawulok, R. Influence of finish - rolling temperature on structure and properties of steel 23MnNiCrMo52. Ostrava: Department of Material Forming, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, 2010. 31 p. Bachelor thesis, head: prof. Ing. Ivo Schindler, CSc. This bachelor thesis examines the effect of finishing temperature in the range of 750 - 1000 oC on the final mechanical properties and microstructures of hot-rolled steel grade 23MnNiCrMo52. In the theoretical part, a research is focused on the controlled rolling, microstructure recovery mechanisms and the influence of alloying elements on the properties of rolled sections. Further on, the practical part aims to describe the above mentioned steel, its mechanical properties and microstructure after experimental rolling on Tandem® mill is applied in laboratory conditions. Finally, the measured values of mechanical properties are discussed and microstructures of hot-rolled products are compared at different finishing temperatures and cooling modes.
