Implementation of Network Security by Firewall and Intrusion Prevention System

Abstract

This diploma thesis was done to give a brief introduction on how concepts of network security work in a modern coorporate network. To describe how modern firewalls work, different kind of firewalls and philosophy of operation. Intrusion prevention system were described, philosophy of operation. How signatures work. Laboratory simulation. Various kinds of attacks was simulated. Attack Including Dos, Ddos, Ssh brute force ,Sql injection, Xss and Csrf attacks . It is described the tools that were used to perform those attacks. The impact they had on network generally and how Intrusion prevention sensor treated those kind of attack. There is also work through how to avoid those kinds of attacks.
